Ashley, one of our amazing staff members, makes it her goal to make the best gelato our guests have ever had. Some might say she is competing with the Italians, yet for now she is making the Best Gelato in Plumas County! New mouth watering flavors are being created weekly with that soft, smooth, creamy texture of Gelato that hits the spot any time a day! Come and experience Ashley’s creations, such as Triple Chocolate Brownie, Chai Tea, Maple Pecan, and Banana Rum just to name a few. Gelato at Chalet View Lodge is now being served every day, any hour we are open, which will exceed your expectations and only leaving you wanting more!

We’re not sure if these wild Turkeys were aware that Thanksgiving is just around the corner when they walked thru our property this morning. They didn’t stick around for long. But really there was nothing to fear, we loved having them for a visit! And we promise these aren’t the Turkeys you will be served if you decide to share your Thanksgiving Feast with us.

I’m sitting here in our warm cozy lobby watching the first snow of the season descend upon the Chalet View Lodge. Our indoor dining area is aglow with the soft light of our fireplace. Tall windows and skylights are giving our diners a wonderful view of the snow settling outside. It’s been such an amazing fall that I don’t think anyone can be upset about this storm and by Friday it looks as if sunny skies will once again prevail. But for now we at the Chalet View are enjoying our first taste of snow.

We hope you’ll come visit us this winter to enjoy the many activities that winter in the Sierras has to offer.

      It’s been an amazing summer for dining here at the Chalet View Lodge. Our wood fired pizza oven was completed in June and has been a great addition to the Chalet View experience. Our chef took the “pizza” oven to a whole new level.

      Our guests were able to watch first hand as he prepared many specialties including Beef Bourguinon, Prawns with freshly made flat bread and some of the best Rib Eye steaks our guests have ever had. The atmosphere on our patio has been, cozy and festive.

      As the fall weather descends upon the Sierra Nevada Mountains most of our guests have moved to our indoor dining area which is no less inviting. But just because our guests are moving indoors doesn’t mean we’re shutting down our oven. Our chefs will be cooking delicious wood fired pizzas and specials all winter. We’ll keep you updated on the winter menu!
