The Party comes to Plumas County!! The much anticipated 20th Annual Johnny Redstreake Snowball is back. The whole town is abuzz with the makings of what some declare “The best party all year!” On March 2nd, Nakoma Golf Resort, home of the unique architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, will welcome you into a space deemed unforgettable. Housed inside the inspirational walls, delicious food is prepared by the finest Plumas County Chefs, mouth-watering local Brew from the Brewing Lair, and Eureka Peak Brewing Company, and a rocking band named Cool Black Kettle from South Lake Tahoe. In between laughing, dancing, and feasting, live and silent auctions can be found, as well as a raffle of fabulous finds, all with a cause to raise funds for the Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl. The whole reason the party comes together is to reestablish the vitality of this unique Ski Bowl , which will in turn continue to bring life to all of Plumas County year round. The Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl will provide a place of winter recreation for everyone to enjoy, equipped with a ski lift and sledding hill. All proceeds go towards the installation of the chairlift, generously donated by Squaw Valley, and facility improvements. The Snowball is a dedicated party, celebrating the history of our mountain and the future it aspires to be. We look forward to sharing the evening with you and this one of a kind event worth talking about.!

Celebrating Great Memories

Chalet View Lodge brought in the New Year, 2013, with great guests, great food, and great memories. Our New Years Eve Celebration was a blast with guests smiling all night long enjoying the festive decorations and charm. Our Prix-Fixe Five Course Meal was mouth watering, as guests moaned though each course, anticipating the next. The big hit of the evening was dessert, Make Your Own Smores, where laughter echoed in the halls and fingers were licked clean with the last bite. What an amazing evening!. Thank you for all who joined us, we greatly enjoyed your company and we look forward to doing it all again next year. Saute’!!

This year at Chalet View Lodge, it has been more than memorable, with wonderful memories of those we have met along the way and new friends we have made. The lights are aglow, the stockings are hung, and the festive spirit of the season has begun. Christmas has officially come to Chalet View Lodge!!! Our restaurant, The Grille, has been buzzing with activity, as we have been hosting Christmas parties for our local businesses, such as Plumas Bank, and enjoying every minute. The evenings are filled with decadent food, laughter, and the warmth of our cozy fireplace. Our own personlized Christmas tree lights the lobby and the scent of pine fills the air, as memories are made. Lets not forget the celebration of our winter cocktail menu, ensuring an unforgettable event. You have not lived, if you have not tried ‘Winter Bliss’, especially perfect on cold winter nights. Stop by this holiday to make your own memory with friends or family or both. Happy Holidays!!!

Thanksgiving Cheers

The smell of Wood Fired Turkey filled the air as Thanksgiving got under way here at Chalet View Lodge. Guests got to chat with our Chef all day, as he prepared the star of the show in our Wood Fired Artisan Oven on the outdoor patio. As evening came and guests arrived, they were greeted with the warmth of the fireplace, fresh mums, and fall leaves lit aglow by candlelight among the tables.

The amazing feast began with Cream of Tomato Soup with Fresh Basil and Garlic croutons, followed by the hit of the evening. The Turkey, with the most delicious hint of wood flavor, graced each plate next to a pile of all the fixings essential to a complete Thanksgiving meal. Groans of complete satisfaction and delight echoed among the guests, as they finished off with warm Homemade Pie. Many glasses were clinked to the sounds of Thanks and Cheers to times past, times to come and all the warm memories in between. The evening doesn’t get much better than that!!

For those of you who joined us, thank you for sharing the pleasure of your company on this special day, and those of you that didn’t, we hope you had as great a Thanksgiving as we did. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!!!!

New Fall Menu at The Aspen Grill

Our chef will be introducing a new menu next week. He won’t change favorites like our traditional French Onion Soup and most of our Artisan Pizzas will remain.
